What an event video costs<\/h2>\n

Four things drive the price: how long the event runs, how many cameras are needed, what else is produced alongside the main film, and how fast you need the result. All prices excluding VAT, travel within the Rhine-Main region included.<\/p>\n

What to look for when you compare quotes<\/h2>\n

Two quotes showing the same number can mean very different things. These ten questions make the difference visible before you decide.<\/p>\n

Is travel included?<\/p>\n

With us, travel within the Rhine-Main region is part of the fixed price. Charged separately, it can add a three figure amount to a single shooting day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Are camera, lighting and sound part of the price?<\/p>\n

We shoot with our own equipment and it is inside the package price. Suppliers without their own kit hire it in and pass the rental on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How many operators are behind the cameras?<\/p>\n

Ask about people, not devices. A second camera nobody operates gives you one locked-off shot, not a second perspective.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Who obtains the filming permits?<\/p>\n

We obtain permits for exhibition grounds, congress centres and public spaces ourselves, and the fees are included in the package price.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How long is the raw material kept?<\/p>\n

With us, five years. A supplier who delivers the finished film and deletes the rest makes any later re-use impossible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How many rounds of revisions are included?<\/p>\n

Get the number in writing. Otherwise every further round becomes a line item that only appears on the final invoice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Are music and usage rights cleared?<\/p>\n

And for which channels and which period. A licence that covers your own website does not cover paid advertising.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Which versions and formats are included?<\/p>\n

Main film, vertical and square, subtitles, shorter cuts: what is in the price and what each further version costs belongs in the quote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What happens if the date moves or the event is cancelled?<\/p>\n

With us, cancellation is free of charge up to ten days before the date, after that 50 per cent applies, and from 48 hours before the shoot the full amount. Moving the date within six months costs nothing extra.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Who carries the cost of putting things right?<\/p>\n

Agree in advance who pays if sound, lighting or the edit does not match what was agreed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Why event shoots work differently<\/h2>\n

However carefully an event is planned, it develops a life of its own. The speaker overruns, the panel gets better than the programme, the award ceremony starts twenty minutes late. There is no second take.<\/p>\n

That is why experience matters more than anything on site. Darkened halls and hard light contrasts need fast lenses and low-light cameras. Outdoor coverage needs a plan for rain. Following VIPs through a venue needs a gimbal, not a tripod.<\/p>\n
